The Ads AI team is responsible for the AI solutions for the fastest growing Marketing Solutions business ($2.5B+) at LinkedIn. As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for solving some of the cutting-edge AI problems that empower large & small businesses to reach, engage, and convert professional audiences at scale. This role provides a unique set of challenges w.r.t. scale and complexity for AI modeling as well as systems-infrastructure. The top areas include member personalization for all ad formats, placements, and objectives; marketplace optimization via targeting, bidding & budget pacing, and pricing algorithms, global supply/demand modulation; and specialized solutions for identity inference, and our offsite ads network. The team works on diverse problems across deep-learning, active learning (feedback & control, bandits and reinforcement learning), auction design, multi-objective optimization, graph algorithms, as well as building low-latency systems to serve these complex models in real time to over 600M+ LinkedIn members.
Work with large-scale data to build systems which will leverage and support new AI techniques for multi-task learning, transfer learning, deep learning, entity embedding, real-time controllers, optimization algorithms to optimize member experience and advertiser ROI in the marketplace.
Provide technical leadership to junior engineers, drive and perform best engineering practices to initiate, plan, and execute large-scale, cross-functional critical projects.
Hold the team to a high machine learning bar and actively reduce ML tech debt, designing systems that scale with algorithms and with time, and improve engineering productivity.
Partner with data science & analytics teams, product & infrastructure teams to build and onboard new modeling use cases online.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent technical experience
2+ years of industry experience
3+ years of relevant work experience
MS or PhD in Computer Science or related technical discipline
Experience with machine learning, optimization algorithms, and/or deep-learning techniques
Experience developing large scale systems
Some leadership or mentorship experience is preferred
Ability to diagnose technical problems, debug code, and automate routine tasks
Analytical approach coupled with solid communication skills and a sense of ownership
Track record of producing papers in conferences such as KDD, … and Patenting Innovations
