LinkedIn is looking for a Principal Staff Engineer to join the Content Experience leadership team. The mission of the Content Experience team is to enable members to build an active professional community that advances their career. Content Experience is the heart of the active community on LinkedIn, focused on driving conversation and community in the Feed, Stories, Sharing & Conversations, Audience Builders, Rich Media and across LinkedIn.
We are looking for a seasoned thought leader with a generalist mindset but who comes from an outstanding native mobile past. This senior leader will also play a key role in the evolution and growth of our NYC R&D Site. We are a 200+ person organization, spread across California and NY.

Responsibilities:

You will work closely with and influence product and/or technology partners regularly to help define roadmap.
You will design new processes that improve operational excellence and accelerate development. 
You will identify problems and opportunities and lead teams to architect, design and operationalize systems.
You will serve as the leader of senior ICs.
You will be part of the Content Experience Engineering Leadership team and contribute to the overall strategy & operations considerations.
You will lead cross team/cross functional discussions and drive alignment on product/technology strategy.
You will evangelize and inspire best practices across a large engineering surface area with a diverse stack.
You will establish a culture that values diverse viewpoints while navigating complex decisions.
You will lead by example to build a culture of craftsmanship and innovation.
You won’t shy away from hands-on leadership, especially when helping teams resolve a complex problem.

Requirements:

BS/BA in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent technical experience
10+ years of experience in software design, development, and algorithm related solutions with at least 5 of those years in a technical leadership position
Expertise in native mobile development

Preferred Qualifications: 
12+ years experience in software design, development, and algorithm related solutions with at least 5 of those years in a technical leadership position
Experience with large-scale distributed systems and client server architectures
Experience leading and influencing within large, matrixed organization
Experience leading high-impact, cross-organization initiatives.
