Serving our more than 600 million members worldwide, the Trust & Safety team is the group tasked with keeping LinkedIn a clean and well-lit professional environment. Working closely with the security engineering and legal teams, Trust & Safety investigates cases of fraud, abuse, and a variety of other issues impacting the integrity of the site.
As a Senior Trust and Safety Manager, you will play a key role in shaping security strategy by leading our Cyber Threat Investigations team that gathers intelligence on and investigates various types of online threats. The successful candidate will have a strong background in technical investigations into malware, botnets, phishing, and SPAM.
We are open for this role to work out of our Sunnyvale, San Francisco, Omaha, Washington DC, and New York City office locations.
Lead a team that researches, investigates, and resolves internal and external issues related to various threats against LinkedIn and our members.
Develops and maintains productive, effective, high morale Trust & Safety agents
Provide coaching and feedback to ensure the team maintains a high level of productivity and quality.
Effectively recognize threats by performing relevant research and data analysis.
Analyze changes in case volume, identify trends that arise and communicate findings to the appropriate stakeholders.
Ensure the team is up-to-date on all policy, process and product changes.
Collaborate with cross functional groups such as legal, product, marketing, customer support, and security engineering to enhance processes, workflows, tools and system functionality.
Manage internal and external escalations from customers, business partners and within the team.
Liaise with law enforcement authorities to refer new investigations and drive progress with ongoing cases.
Produce high quality detailed documentation to internal and external parties while managing sensitive or confidential information.
Attend ongoing industry working groups and trainings on relevant subject areas
Conduct quarterly and annual reviews for all direct reports and provide feedback to other teammates as needed.
Some travel, including international.
BA/BS Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
5+ years in one or more of the following areas or combination thereof: Cyber Threat Investigations, malware analysis, Account takeover analysis, botnet investigations, forensics, intelligence analysis.
3+ yrs of Technical leadership/Management of teams or similar levels of experience.
Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, or related technical discipline
Outstanding organizational as well as verbal and written communication skills
In-depth knowledge of fraud investigations and the tools/technologies that support it.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills using a variety of communication channels.
Consistent and appropriate sense of urgency combined with proper discretion in resolving issues.
Ability to work extended or non-traditional hours on occasion to support emergency situations
Ability to develop working knowledge of technical aspects of systems, including configuration, settings, logging, and permissions.
