As the leader of the Content Experience SRE team you will be uniquely positioned to identify, plan and be prepared for massive growth in this space. You will be leading multiple SRE teams across New York and Sunnyvale and will be directly working with a large engineering organization focusing on accelerating our active community strategy by growing public conversations through contributors and audience builders. As part of the larger Site Engineering organization you will also be responsible for leveraging and building the right tooling and infrastructure necessary to support the current and future demands in this space. 

Responsibility

serve as the face of a team responsible for the overall health, performance, and capacity of a significant part of our business
● Gain and disseminate deep knowledge of our complex applications
● Contribute to the development and growth of talented managers and engineers ranging from junior to senior levels of experience
● Play a leading role in the planning and execution of ongoing efforts to rapidly grow and improve our site
● Develop tight relationships with multiple software development leaders as partners, ensuring that product needs are met from an operations perspective
● Pitch in with hands on help to keep things running smoothly

Requirement

Basic Qualifications
● B.S. or higher in Computer Science or another technical discipline, or related practical experience
● 5+ years experience in a web operations role
● 2+ years in a management/leadership position with at least 1+ year in management for engineering or operations talent
● 2+ years UNIX systems knowledge and/or systems administration background
● 2+ years programming in one or more of Python, Perl, Ruby, Java, or C

Preferred Requirement
● 5+ years in an operations leadership position
● Troubleshooting skills that span systems, network, and code
● Experience with web-based Java/J2EE architectures
● Experience with both stateless and stateful applications
● Experience dealing with rich media streaming experience
● Experience scaling and operating and real-time platforms
● Experience monitoring and capacity planning for bursty workloads
● Excellent communication skills
