Job Description

Our client, the leading destination for short-form mobile video, is seeking a talented Data Engineer to join their E-Commerce team. With global offices in various cities, our client is dedicated to inspiring creativity and bringing joy to over 1 billion users worldwide. As a Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in building, optimizing, and expanding one of the largest data platforms in the world. This position offers the opportunity to work with diverse systems within the data platform ecosystem and make a significant impact on core products and millions of users. The role can be based in either our Mountain View or Seattle office.


Responsibilities – What You’ll Do

– Efficiently and reliably design and develop data transformations for various purposes, such as reporting, growth analysis, and multi-dimensional analysis.
– Create reliable, scalable, robust, and extensible big data systems that support core products and business operations.
– Establish best engineering practices and solid design principles for both technical and non-technical team members.


Requirements – What You’ll Need

– Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
– Proficiency in Big Data technologies, including Hadoop, M/R, Hive, Spark, Metastore, Presto, Flume, Kafka, ClickHouse, and Flink.
– Experience in data analysis, data ingestion, and data integration.
– Strong knowledge of ETL (Extraction, Transformation & Loading) processes and data system architecture.
– Expertise in schema design, data modeling, and SQL queries.
– Passionate and self-motivated about advancements in the Big Data field.
