As a Tech Lead Software Engineer (Android) in the Mobile Architecture & Infrastructure Team, you will be responsible for enhancing engineering efficiency by building mobile infrastructure and tools. You will analyze and optimize UI and infrastructure application code for better performance, develop and maintain reusable Android app components, and collaborate with product engineering teams to deliver technical solutions and best practices. Additionally, you will drive architecture innovations to support world-class mobile app development. To be successful in this role, you should have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience, along with at least 7 years of industry experience in Android development. You should have a deep understanding of design patterns and principles, as well as a broad knowledge of the Android tech stack. Familiarity with Jetpack and other open-source Android libraries, such as RxJava, Retrofit, and Litho, is also desired. Proficiency in creating scalable, dynamic, and highly performant UI components using the Android SDK is essential. Experience with remote APIs, concurrency, layouts, transitions, animations, client-side persistence, and architectural patterns on mobile apps is also required. It would be advantageous to have experience working in a complex, matrix organization involving cross-functional and/or cross-business projects. Experience in a mobile architecture/infrastructure team with a deep understanding of the tech stack in these projects is also beneficial. Knowledge in sub-engineering areas such as performance optimization, toolchain, automated testing, and design patterns is a plus. Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are highly valued.
