Responsibilities – Lead and mentor a team of designers, fostering a collaborative and creative environment. Provide guidance, feedback, and professional development opportunities to team members. – Develop and implement a comprehensive design strategy that aligns with our Shop’s business objectives. Collaborate with product teams, engineer teams, and other stakeholders to define design goals and deliver high quality solutions. – Oversee the design process from concept to final delivery, ensuring the team’s operation efficiency, balancing priorities and resources effectively. – Advocate for user-centered design principles, ensuring that user needs and experiences are at the forefront of all design decisions. – Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, marketing, and sales, to ensure cohesive and integrated product experiences. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across departments. – Maintain high standards of design quality, consistency, and attention to pixel detail. Review and critique design work, providing constructive feedback to ensure the highest level of design crafting. – Stay current with industry trends, emerging new technologies, and best practices in product design. Continuously seek opportunities to innovate and improve design processes and methodologies. – Engage with key stakeholders to gather requirements, present design concepts, and gain buy-in for design initiatives. Communicate design vision and progress effectively to senior leadership. Minimum Qualifications – Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred – Strong portfolio showcasing a range of successful design projects in business product context and a deep understanding of design principles. – Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to inspire and motivate a team. – Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar. – Experience with user research methodologies, usability testing, and data-driven design decisions. – Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet business expectations. – Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and rationale to stakeholders at all levels. Preferred Qualifications – 5+ years of experience in product design, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role. – Passion for innovation and a commitment to continuous improvement in design practices. |
